The FairwayData web portal (fairwaydata.info) shows golf course information, scorecards and tees and offers a calculator for playing handicap and Stableford – no sign-in needed, right in your browser. Help for the MyGolfDiary iOS app is here.
1. Finding a club
- On the home page, type a club name, city or country into the search box. Matches appear as you type; click one to open the club page.
- You can combine several words (e.g. “Golf Berlin”) – all words must appear in the name, city or region.
- Below the search you will find tiles for the calculator, the AI scorecard reader and the app.
2. The club page
- At the top you see the name, location and key figures as chips (holes, par, number of recorded tees, cart available or not).
- Below that are address, phone, email, website, opening hours and the club’s courses, plus the link “Open in Google Maps”.
- Click the heading of “Scorecards & tees” or “Prices (guide values)” to collapse or expand the section.
- In “Scorecards & tees” every tee is its own entry: a click shows course rating, slope, par, length and – if recorded – the hole-by-hole table (for 18 holes in front/back blocks). The button on a tee opens the calculator with that tee’s values.
- If tees are still missing, you can report them anonymously in the app; after our review they appear here.
3. Prices & cart
- Prices are guide values: they come from anonymous reports by app users and from values we have reviewed and accepted. Shown are green fee (9/18 holes, separately for weekday and weekend where available), cart, trolley and rental clubs.
- A value only appears once at least two independent reports exist or we have reviewed it. Only reports from the last 18 months count; the “Reports” column shows how many a value is based on.
- Whether a cart is available is shown in the chips at the top of the club page.
- You can contribute in the app (“Report cart or prices” in the club info, or the costs of a round).
4. Calculator: playing handicap & Stableford
- The “Playing handicap” tab calculates your course handicap from handicap index, slope, course rating and par – for 18 or 9 holes, with an adjustable allowance in percent.
- The “Stableford points” tab shows strokes, handicap strokes and net and gross points hole by hole. Leave strokes empty for “not played yet”.
- If you arrive via a tee on a club page, slope, course rating, par and indexes are already filled in.
- Everything is calculated in your browser. Only your last entered handicap index is remembered locally in the browser – nothing is sent to us.
5. Reading a scorecard with AI
- You photograph your filled-in scorecard and have an AI app of your choice (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini) read it; the portal then shows the result hole by hole plus net and gross Stableford.
- Steps: 1) optionally choose club and tee, 2) take or select a photo, 3) copy the photo and the prepared prompt into the AI app, 4) paste the AI’s complete answer here, 5) view the result.
- The photo stays in your browser – we do not upload it and store neither photo nor result. What you paste into the AI app is subject to its privacy terms.
6. Reporting errors & contact
- If something on a club page is wrong, use the link “Report an error or change” at the bottom. It opens the contact form with the club filled in.
- You can also reach the contact form via “Contact us” in the footer. Pick a topic (question, error/change at a golf course, report a new course, feedback, other) and enter your email address so we can reply.
- It is even easier in the iOS app: you report changes in a structured way and see under “My reports” what became of them.
7. Language & privacy
- Choose the language in the menu at the top (Deutsch, English, Español, Italiano, Français). It is remembered in a small cookie; without a choice, your browser language is used.
- We do not use analytics or advertising trackers. See the Privacy Policy for details.
